Each listing will include details on the Royal Mail pricing that the envelope size falls into. For example: C4 envelopes for A4 size paper will qualify as a Large Letter under Royal Mail's size based pricing (Royal Mail also have some weight bands within the Large Letter category that will also determine postal or postage costs).

Since the introduction of size based letter pricing or pricing in proportion by Royal Mail back in 2006, we have produced a range of envelopes based on their size restrictions & even slightly reducing traditional envelope sizes to fit within the size limits they introduced. An example of this is traditional C5 size envelopes, which fell outside Royal Mail's Standard Letter size limit & had to be sent as a Large Letter at an increased price. We introduced a C5 PiP size (or C5 Pricing In Proportion) envelope at a slightly smaller size which allowed our clients to make huge savings on postage as they could then be posted out as Standard Letters. Therefore any C5 envelopes for A5 paper on this site that qualify as Standard Letters will be marked as C5 PiP envelopes to help you assess postage costs prior to purchasing. Traditional C5 envelopes will be shown as Large Letter size.

Business size or DL size envelopes qualify as Standard Letters providing they fall within the weigh allowances, which shouldn't present a problem when using them for paper items.
